Sponsors
The research activities of the five group members — Dr. Carver, Dr. Gray, Dr. Kraft, Dr. Parrish, and Dr. Smith — are supported by 14 active awards, including 10 awards from the National Science Foundation. A recent award from the Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Program of the U.S. Department of Education provides fellowships to 6 doctoral students, and a recent internal award from the Office of Research supports Dr. Delamare, a postdoctoral research fellow. Dr. Gray's work is also supported by a Google Research Award. Additional support for the group is provided by the College of Engineering and the Department of Computer Science. We gratefully acknowledge these agencies for their support.
The Center for Advanced Public Safety (CAPS) has many current and past sponsors who have supported the work of Dr. Parrish (Director of CAPS), Dr. Smith, Dr. Carver, and Dr. Kraft.
Past sponsors of Dr. Carver's work include the Army Research Labs, the U.S. Air Force, and the Army Corps of Engineers. Dr. Gray's work was sponsored previously by DARPA and IBM (via an Eclipse Innovation Grant). Past sponsors of Dr. Smith's work include NASA and the National Science Foundation.
